A Year In Photographs
Day 365

At last, I am finally at the end of my 365 project. For those of you who have followed me until the very end, what you have seen here is more than simply a photograph that I have taken every day. I have shared 365 little pieces of the year 2011 as it looked through my eyes. Many of you have been a part of this project either through sharing the moments with me in which I took the photographs, offering support and showing enthusiasm, or simply through letting me know that you liked a particular photograph. For any part you played in what I set out to do in 2011, thank you for what you have helped me achieve. I would not have been able to stay motivated without all of you.

However, out of everyone who has joined me in completing my resolution for 2011, a person who has gone unmentioned up until now is my mother. She has been a key figure in the background of this project by helping me stay motivated, and offering exactly the suggestions I needed on days where I was a little short on inspiration. Her role in this project is a microcosm of her role in my life. Although I do not mention her often enough, she is always there behind me to be whatever I need her to be. So I saved the best for last, and this is a picture of my mother. Thank you, Ammi, for being there long after the shutter has clicked.
Day 364

It has become increasingly challenging during this project to make familiar things unfamiliar and interesting each time I photograph them. It’s all part of what I signed up for when I decided to take this on at the beginning of the year, so I am not complaining, but I would like to know if you think I’ve succeeded with this picture. Do you recognize this?
Day 363

I’ve always wanted to be on a hot air balloon.
Day 362

My parents gave me a record player for my birthday this year. The first records I played on it were the two King Of Limbs vinyls that I had pre-ordered, but hadn’t had a chance to listen to.
Day 361

It’s been raining pretty much all day in Kingston today. I took this picture through a window while cowering from the prospect of getting soaked.
Day 360

Ayesha was posing for a picture for me when I took this picture between poses. It happened to be the best one out of the batch, and it just goes to show that candid pictures are the loveliest.
Day 359

My favourite ornament on the Christmas tree at Daniel’s house.
Day 358

I’m home for a short while before heading back to Kingston. After I get back to Kingston, I have three more shifts to complete at work before my winter break truly begins! I’m very excited to have a few days just to relax before diving into the next semester. This is a picture of the view from one of the parking lots of Fairview Mall. I’ve lived across from this mall for my entire time in Canada, and having seen this view change over the years, this vantage point feels like home.
Day 357

These are the hands responsible for taking every single one of these 357 pictures.
Day 356

My only companion on my 19th birthday. All my friends and family are in Toronto, and those of my friends who go to Queen’s have already left Kingston for the holidays. This is the first birthday that I’ve ever spent on my own, but I guess it’s also one of those things that has to happen at least once in your lifetime. This is a book that I really loved two years ago, but never had a chance to finish because I had borrowed it from the library. I recently ordered it and picked it up today, and I suppose it’s sort of like my birthday gift to myself.
